Tom Kuhne - CEO

With over 30 years of leadership development experience, Tom Kuhne is the Managing Partner and CTO of TruScore, a premier provider of leadership assessment tools. He has played a pivotal role in shaping leadership strategies for organizations worldwide, leveraging innovative assessment methodologies to drive performance and growth.

In addition to his corporate leadership expertise, Tom has nearly a decade of fire service governance experience as a board member of the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District. Serving in various capacities, including Board President, he has led strategic and leadership development initiatives that have strengthened the district’s operational effectiveness and long-term planning. His combined expertise in leadership development and fire service governance positions him as a trusted advisor in both corporate and public service sectors.

Erin Hirschland - Master Coach

Erin Hirschland is a seasoned organization development expert and executive coach, known for helping leaders at all levels maximize their impact. She has extensive experience working across industries and sectors, with deep expertise in a fire service environment.

Erin partners with leaders to sharpen their vision, align it with organizational values, and drive measurable results. Her coaching approach builds trust and self-awareness, equipping people with both strategic insight and practical tools for growth. She integrates proven assessments, including TruScore’s 360-Degree Leadership Assessments and the Everything DiSC Profile, to identify strengths and areas for development.

With a background in marketing, HR, and operations, she brings a well-rounded perspective to leadership development. She has held numerous roles both in-house and as a consultant, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges executives and fire service leaders, in particular, face. She specializes in board relations, interpersonal dynamics, performance management, and strategies that enhance both engagement and stakeholder outcomes of all types.

A trusted advisor and skilled facilitator, Erin holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Colorado.

Randy Callahan - Lead Mentor

Randy Callahan is a distinguished fire service professional with over 40 years of experience and a deep commitment to leadership and firefighter development. He began his career with the West Bloomfield Township Fire Department, where he served for 14 years before joining the Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) in 1994. At PFA, he rose through the ranks—serving as a firefighter, captain, and ultimately battalion chief of training—where he focused extensively on mentoring and developing future fire service leaders.

Chief Callahan holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership, a credential that has shaped his strategic approach to team building and departmental growth throughout his career. His dedication and impact were recognized statewide when he was named Colorado Fire Chief of the Year in 2020.

After retiring from PFA, he took on the role of fire chief at Colorado River Fire Rescue, where he led the department through its first-ever change of command ceremony and emphasized a culture of leadership development. He has also shared his insights as a speaker at the Colorado Fire Leadership Challenge conference, inspiring others with his experience and vision.

He has also served multiple times as the interim fire chief for Boulder Rural Fire Rescue, providing steady leadership and organizational guidance during key transitional periods.
